Grapes of probable French origin, probably in Burgundy. It was mentioned for the first time by Gallo in 1550 with the name of Uva d'Oro. Then, with the same name, Acerbi (1825) spoke of him as grapes grown in the area Oltrepò. Today is especially prevalent in the Po Valley.
