The wineries group together 4,500 grape growers and 8 Iarge Iand management cooperatives.
The annual average production amounts to 130,000 metric tons of grapes. This represents a third of the total output of wineries’ area in the region.
Of their 6,600 ha. of specialized vineyards 80% are of Denominazione di Origine Controllata (D.O.C.) or Indicazione Geografica Tipica (l.G.T.) status.
lndeed, V.Q.P.R.D. and I.G.T. wines are made from the grape varieties that are recommended and authorized for each production zone.
